Nearly a pound of HOT HOT HOT!

This is what 14.5 oz of sliced jalapenos looks like!

As you can see, while the other peppers in the garden aren't too impressive yet, the jalapenos are doing GREAT! It's hard to judge just how much is here in the picture, but some of those bigger rings were from jalapenos quite a bit bigger/plumper than my thumb!! Had some real monsters in there...and there are more on the plants filling out now!

I figured I'd just start slicing and freezing them on a pan, then dump them individually frozen into a freezer bag. I'll be able to toss these guys into chili (and who knows what else!?) all winter long! Since I know I'll have quite a few more jalapenos, I might even look into canning some...great for nachos!?

All the other mixed peppers (a smallish green bell, some medium hot yellows, an orange one, etc) didn't even weigh as much combined as just the jalapenos. I diced them all up and gave them the same freezer treatment - again for chili!

Definitely looking forward to winter!

I hope you washed you hands before you touched any important body parts.

ROFL Trust me - I washed THREE times - and that was before I was even willing to touch one of the cats, and they have a nice thick layer of fur!

'Sides, I was real careful not to touch the sliced ends/edges - just the shiny outer skin. Still, got SOME heat on me just from the juices - but thankfully nowhere that hurt too bad! ;-) Thanks for watching out for me guys!

I have to admit, Jeph, the jalapenos you sent me had nice flavour, but weren't especially hot. Someone once told me that it's the intense sunshine in southern climes that produces the heat. My Mum used to grow them in a greenhouse, but they would end up like green bell peppers in flavour and heat instead.

Then you must've definitely gotten some of the Fooled You variety I grew...
