SCI FI'S FLASH GORDON

Sci Fi has provided The Continuum with a first image from its upcoming Flash Gordon series.

The image shows Eric Johnson as Flash Gordon and Gina Holden as Dale Arden.

Johnson is probably best known to comics fans from his two seasons as Whitney on Smallville.

John Ralston plays Ming in the series, which premieres on August 10.

Here's how the network describes the series:

"Sci Fi's contemporized version of Flash Gordon follows the all-new adventures of Flash and his companions, Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov. Ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances, they find themselves as Earth's last line of defense against the forces of the merciless dictator Ming."
