I really like this orange-y iris...I'm not sure this picture does it justice.
Not too fond of this one - pale yellow on top (I believe that part's called the standard), with violet falls. The falls aren't a bad color at all, but I'm thinking I don't care for the bi-color look? Sort of distracting. So, of course, this one is one of the faster growing, healthier bearded iris I have, right? ;-)
I think these are considered Dutch iris, and I believe are splits Mary gave me two years ago? Maybe last spring. I've got clumps of these scattered in the two big beds in the back yard, and they're doing great... Beautiful colors, and a mass of flowers!
I really like this DARK maroon bearded iris - it has such a dark velvety look to it. It's actually my biggest and healthiest iris I think?
And finally there's this guy, which probably is my favorite for color right now. It's over in the purple/blue bed, along with a bunch of the Dutch iris, and really helps nail the color palette along with some of the other plants in flower right now (like the catmints and speedwell).
Hopefully in a few years all of these bearded iris will have grown so much I'll have to split them and spread them around more - either to more places in the gardens, or with friends...

Irises have long been among my favourite flowers, and your gorgeous photos are great evidence as to why. Wonderful!
My mom gave me some of her Giant Iris splits last fall and when they came up in my yard this spring? OH WOW.
Really gorgeous.
Even though I still think the flower looks like a Kleenex is shoved up its nose, but whatever.
It could be apple scab.
I know, after this spring's show-of-irises, I'm going to have a hard time not being tempted to get "maybe just one or two more...ok, maybe three" later this year! ;-)
LMAO Finny - I'm not going to be able to look at them the same way again!
I love these flowers. Such a great variety of colour. :)
