Trick or Treat!

Halloween is now officially over. We survived last nite's Halloween Party, which was a ton of fun! (Check out our Halloween Party blog for more outtakes, pictures and recipes...) Just as the party started, so did the local/private Trick or Treat for the neighborhood kids. And then today? The regularly scheduled Trick or Treat which of course includes kids from other towns as well.

Trick or Treat during the daytime really isn't as much fun. There's very little spookiness going on. Sure, I admit it's easier and safer for all the little toddlers going around, and we DO have a lot of those in the neighborhood. But at the same time there's older kids, tweens, teens (who're probably getting too old for trick-or-treating anyhow), etc.

Halloween 2010 - Trick or Treat

I still enjoy setting up the outside of the house. We can't have the fun with black lights, projected stuff, strobes, etc, but it's still an opportunity to entertain both kids and parents alike.

So about 45 minutes before the 2pm trick-or-treat start time, I started running stuff from last night's party out to the front porch. Here's the web album to see the set up once all the kids were done (and brrrr, it was a long, cold two hours out there!) We didn't bother putting a mask on one of us to scare kids this time. A few kids (and parents) expected it from previous years, and so were looking around nervously to see if someone was going to jump out that them. You could say we let them off the hook this year, and then we can have more fun with it next year! ;-)

Fall color

I always forget how beautiful the change of seasons is going to be... and this tree behind our place is the perfect example.

Oh Mighty Isis!

I have to say, this week's episode of Smallville just didn't compare to the classic TV Isis!

Titans Together!

Wow, this could ALMOST be reason enough for me to want to get cable again!!! Too bad this'll only be on Cartoon Network. I wonder if they'll package 'em up as DVDs later...

Change of seasons

Even with the leaves changing as night time temps are working their way down into the 30s, this dahlia is still going strong.
