Time to bring this blog back to life!?

I haven't posted anything here in aaaages - nearly a year in fact.  There was more activity over on the Fresh is Best blog last year, but even that suffered some as it became faster and easier to just post quick things to Facebook instead.  I've decided I won't be offering the CSA service this year, and I've been out of the freelance web work for quite some time.  I've decided I want more "me time" this year (or "us time" if you count Brett and our menagerie)...I want to enjoy my hobbies more, feel less obligation to do things for other people once my work day has ended, etc.

I have a feeling there'll be a ton more pictures of knit things if I stick with the blog this time around.  Something kicked in around Christmas.  Mom asked for some catnip mice.  I made some.  I made a lot.  I gave them to a bunch of our friends as Christmas gifts (if they had cats, that is).  And when we were visiting mom and dad for Christmas, mom talked about my fingerless gloves and wondered if she could have a pair.  Hunh.  Ok, sure - what colors would she like?  Aqua was on the list, and I know how much she likes the color, so I looked around locally in the chain hobby stores, and bought (and returned) two yarns that just weren't going to cut it.  Oh, and it had to be wool.

So I started looking around online for aqua colored yarn, came across Malabrigo's Nassau Blue, and boom....I was hooked on knitting again.  Hadn't done it in about a year, and now I'm cranking out fingerless gloves and socks and who knows what's next!?  (Hint:  I want to try some West Knits patterns!)

Anyhow, mom's mitts were finished and mailed off, and before she received them I was working on more for us here.  Here's a couple pics of Brett hand-modeling mom's knits...I'll post pics of other finished projects and works in progress soon!
