Lettuce entertain you...

Nothing to see here but gratuitous close-ups of lettuce.  Lots and lots of lettuce.  Sure, it's just lettuce, but there are so many looks to it that sometimes it's just fun to sit there and look at it.  Yeah, I guess I need to get out more.

You have some very pretty varieties there. Love all the color.
I grew some Yugoslavian Red lettuce this year for the first time--and it's so pretty , I just like to go out and look at it (it actually doesn't taste "great")

Hi Sue - thanks for checking in!

You're right, I've found some of the pretty ones aren't all that tasty at times - just don't ask me which ones. This year I decided to pay a little less attention to the variety-details in the garden, which is really weird for me to just let go like that. I just sprinkled seeds out there for stuff like beets, lettuce, carrots and peas. In some cases I took a little bit of seeds from different packets (some newer, some older), stirred them together in a cup, and then sprinkled them out in the garden bed. This was partly to better distribute/blend the older seeds with newer seeds since I didn't know which would sprout (and I didn't feel like pre-sprouting for testing).

If you haven't grown Buttercrunch, get it - sooooo good!

Ooh! So many of my favorites in there. Is that Flashy Trout Back that I see? That one's tasty.

Feel free to lettuce porn it up whenever. I'll totally peek.
