Wow.
I figured it would be either Elliott or Kat voted off Idol tonite, but it was a tough call. Seems like the rest of American found it to be the same - such CLOSE results!! That's got to be such a backhanded complement to get voted off now, and yet come so close to getting to stay...all within less than a percent of each other.
Kat almost seemed to have given up this week at times - like she was tired of the negativity from the judges, coming so close to getting voted off, etc. Plus it seemed like maybe she was a little let down to not get quite the same turnout in LA that Elliott and Taylor got in their home towns. Sure, she pointed out things are a bit different in a big celebrity-driven town like LA, but still, to not get the parade, the thousands of people turning out, etc...must've been a bit of a downer? Maybe now she'll find her second wind for this final week?
LOVED Taylor dancing up on the stage with Elliott and Kat - that was fun! We couldn't tell if Kat wrapped it up with Taylor's quirky dance moves, or if she was worried the stage would come crashing down. All three had great performances tonite actually. Kat's "Think" (which I've always assumed was "Freedom") was superb!
I think we were shedding a tear just like everyone else after Elliott's segment. Man... So sentimental!! I really hate to see him go, but I guess it IS a contest and there can only be one winner. I just hope this isn't the last we see of Elliott (besides the fact we're working to get tickets to see the July concert in Cleveland!). (Thanks to Emily for getting us the advance ticket sales password!)
BTW - Good to know I'm not the only one who's been spelling Elliott with one t. I noticed my buddy Dave was doing the same thing in email tonite. And yet on the signs people were holding up at the parades, etc, it had two t's. Where'd we get the wrong spelling!?
Looking forward to next week!

When in July are they coming to Cleveland? I would be tempted, if only to see Elliott one more time.
Ahhhh, Elliott. Two more dreams about him tonight?
Ummm...July 19th I think??
Tickets OFFICIALLY go on sale tomorrow. A coworker's daughter got me her advanced ticket sales password (shhhh!), but we still haven't bought tickets because most of the advance sales we're seeing are still off to the back. And then, on a whim, I checked eBay. People are selling tickets for seats WAY UP CLOSE, but it's starting bids/buy now for like $299 a pair!! Yipes!
Oh, and did you dream of Elliott?
No dreams of Elliott. Ah well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that he makes a good CD instead. Or several.
$299? Ouch.
That $299 is the eBay price for two seats that are up close to the stage. We're not going to get anything that good...
Why the heck not? Don't you deserve it? Splurge and see Elliott and let his mighty tears and sweat fall on you!
:-P
Now you're just turning me on!
I hope not - this is a nice, family blog, isn't it?
Maybe we need to set up a team blog for some of these other conversations. Then again, maybe not....
If people know me, they gotta be handle the wild stuff! :)
