It's been too long since I've had some fun food pics to post...so here's two recent ones. Baked potato soup from the weekend (found the recipe in an advertisement for Cooking Light), followed up by the chicken pot pie I made last nite (using Barefoot Contessa's pie crust recipe). Enjoy!

The soup looks very tasty. Was there a link to the recipe, or do you have it offline?
I got it in this magazine-like ad that came in the mail. And then I proceeded to tweak it (only a tiny bit!) I thought about posting it - think I should? Once I change the recipe, it's not really copyright infringement, right? Maybe I'll do that tonite! Anyone else want a recipe for some baked potato soup?
All cookbooks use the same four recipes and just tweak the amount of salt.
LOL
Tweak it more, credit the "inspiration", and link to the original? I dunno. Let's not talk copyright - it's too much like work!
Yum, yum, YUM! I've never heard of baked potato soup. I'd definitely like a peek at the recipe. And LOL, I've never heard the term 'speed roasting'--too funny.
P.S. For lots of info on recipe copyright infringement, how to deal with what you're talking about as far as posting a tweaked recipe, head over to Food Blog S'cool. Put something like "recipes" and "copyright" into the search box.
P.S. The new site looks great! Sorry it took me so long to find my way over here. Can't believe how fast the days go by. : )
I just tried a quick search for those keywords (but not much more, I admit). No luck. Hmmmm.
Jeph, you work in a library. You just might have some colleagues there who can offer some advice!
Wow - I'm so behind on my own blog I missed out on these threads! Good to see you over here FG! Will be getting my Farmgirl fix over breakfast in just a short bit...
And Peter, you make a good point - I might just have to bug some of the librarians downstairs about that copyright issue... Wouldn't wanna go to jail for posting a baked potato soup recipe, now would I?!
Oh, and FG - I HIGHLY recommend leaving the soup a bit chunky. Don't mash up all the taters - or maybe reserve some and cube it, then add it back in later? Texture is good in something like this - I'm not too fond of an overly creamy soup.
I think you're safe either printing a recipe with attribution OR linking to it if its on the web and in the case of modifying a recipe just say.."this was so and so's recipe but I added to it."
Yum, yum - those food items look perfect for a midnight snack!
