Bah, I was stuck in traffic in Manhattan for almost 45 minutes because of filming for Spiderman 3. Curse you Spiderman!

Alison - hope your husband doesn't mind the year long wait we have to suffer through now!

Steven - They were doing a lot of filming for Spidey up in Cleveland just a couple months ago!

I didn't even bother with Spiderman 2. Wasn't much of a fan of the comic, and I thought the first movie was pretty lame. kd lang - excuse me: Tobey Maguire - is not a favourite.

Nor am I bothering with the new Superman.

Wow, I sound bitter!

I feel I've been lied to all along Peter. I thought you were a comic book fan. Tsk tsk...

Are you at least going to TRY the new Legion of Super Heroes cartoon when it airs!? (Altho I recently saw a new image from it, and it looks like they've given Braniac a stretchy/elongating neck. WTF!?)

I don't think I get that network, though. Gosh, Jeph, I hate disappointing you. The new Superman, despite the reviews, just looks a little dull.

But I hope you look good in the red Underoos with blue pantyhose at the cinema!

My second sone promptly pointed out one of the villians. Sad but the whole family (all 7) crowded around the computer to watch this.. The villian he pointed out was Sandman.. Did you see him?? Now we have to wait for a freakin year.. My daughter is now fixated on the dark black spidey suit.. Something about venom..

Do me a favor.. Please leave the red speedo and blue tights alone.. That is just wrong..

I probably shouldn't tell you that I used to work as a graphic designer for a very small comic book publishing company. : )

And I think I might have some original Sandman art somewhere. . .

Now my kids were saying they thought the villian was going to be Harry as the Hobgoblin.. But they also saw Venom an alien.. I like SPidey, but had NO CLUE my kids were so well versed..

Farmgirl your old job sounds fun....

I knew Hobgoblin and Sandman were supposed to be in this one. I was pleasantly surprised to see Venom is also going to be in it. Altho I think the Batman movies started having problems when they wanted to pack in as many villains as they could - they'll need to be careful here!

Gasp! Farmgirl! So do I! I have an original pencil sketch of Dream by Jill Thompson! (I just don't know where it is these days - boxed up somewhere?)

*AND* I'd hired Jill Thompson (and an earlier convention) to do an AMAAAAAZING sketch of the entire Endless family for a friend/coworker of mine at the time, in her "baby" style. She went way over the top, first drawing in pencil, then adding marker, and finally even adding in some silver marker embellishments here and there (like little floaty skulls and I forget what else). I was SO jealous - I wanted to keep it for myself!

I wondered if the only reason she went so over the top for me was because I was working the convention so she knew I'd be there the next day - rather than just doing a rush job while I stood in line and waited in person. I was quite honored!

So what sort of graphic art did you do? What company did you work for? Are we going to find out you were a big comic tycoon before escaping civilization to the fields!? LOL Any chance you'd post some of your work?

Peter and Steven here are both Neil Gaiman fans as well I believe.

The Sandman was a marvellous story, and I liked his interpretation of the Marvel Universe in 1602. Books of Magic was good as well. His novels have bene hit and miss for me, and you can sort of smell the intersections of cute plot threads miles in advance these days.

I think the only novel of his that I read was Good Omens - and I think he did that with....Terry Pratchett? Does that sound right? There was even talk of making that into a movie for awhile.
