And while they're out watching, what, an old 90s band, I stayed home, ate a deconstructed tomato/mozzarella/basil salad of sorts, taboulleh, grilled zuchinni strips, salami, and bean dip on toasted flat bread. Sort of a mediterranean antipasta theme maybe? Good stuff all around - didn't really use recipes, just wanted to use some herbs, as well as thing around here that needed to be used up.
So while (and after) eating dinner I watched a movie I borrowed from dad - Into the Blue. Can I just say Paul Walker and Scott Caan have SMOKING bodies!! LOVE the fuzz on Scott Caan!! Oh, and Jessica Alba's a hottie too - gotta give her that. I'd forgotten what else I saw Paul Walker in - never saw Fast & The Furious. I think it was Timeline? He seems to have a very Jack Johnson thing about him... I didn't expect much from Into The Blue - sure, it wasn't the deepest or most emotional or action packed movie ever, but I did enjoy it. Decent plot, good acting, stereotypical characters, beeeeeautiful scenery, and beeeeautiful people! That's entertainment!

My friend, Allison, and Peter's friend, too, just went to a Nine Inch Nails concert on Sat eve. She loved it!
I saw Into the Blue as well, a couple of years back. Yes, Paul Walker has an awesome body!
Never been to one of their concerts but I love NIN!
Great - now I'm going to have "Head Like A Hole" running through my head all day! LOL Thanks so much guys - I'd worked hard at not thinking about old NIN songs too much while Brett and Jay were prepping to go.
Won't you come and save me?
Michael Bolton. Think Michael Bolton. It's nefarious, but it works....
I love NIN, Trent Reznor is a genius.
I honestly had no idea they were still popular! Brett said he was surprised at how the audience was older than he would've expected. AND how many gay people were there.
Peter - Did I ever tell you that the first, and only, concert I won tickets for was Michael Bolton? Yep! It was years ago. Go ahead and laugh. Allison does! :)
Can't be worse, Brenda, than me winning a Gino Vanelli cassette from the local radio station!
I honestly don't know any NIN songs so far as I can tell.
My first concert? George Michael's Faith tour! That was GOOD STUFF!!
You saw GM on his Faith tour? I am sooooo jealous, truly. Living in a small Canadian town meant the biggest name to come through was Stomping Tom Connors.
Problem is, I can't even say "George Michael" without hearing that "chink chink ka chink, cha chink chink" beginning from "Faith" (the song, not the tour). But still loved that stuff - some of his music's really held up well to time!
Oh, and to all the NIN lovers - Brett showed me pics of what Trent Reznor looks like these days. Whoa! Borderline Henry Rollins - nice!
Oh I guess it would be nice/ If I could touch your body/ I know not -- oops, maybe not appropriate lyrics here.
Faith remains, in my opinion, one of the best albums of the 80s. The sound of my grade 12 year, and likely yours Jeph!
Exactly!
I haven't seen TOO many concerts to be honest. I saw George Michael. Around the same time I saw A-Ha - that was fun. I WANTED to see Cyndi Lauper (also 12th grade?) but I think I was in trouble for something. (Me? I'm an angel!) And then it was yeaaaaars later before my next concert - the second year of Lilith Fair (yes, I'm a lesbian). And then Brett surprised me a couple years after that and took me to see Natalie Merchant perform outside - that was neat!
And now we do the damn American Idol thing - heh heh!! Speaking of which - just a few weeks left to go! RAH!!!!
Remember: my birthday is coming up and I demand a t-shirt stained with the tears and sweat of Elliott!
What if those aren't the bodily fluids he's offering!?
And you seriously think that if I got something like that that Brett would let it leave the house????
I'm over here in the corner with dyed black hair and skinny jeans, clutching a Ramones album and rolling my eyes at you New Wave poseurs.
ROFL!!
I can't say I ever settled with any one look/genre. Ok, look, yes - geek/nerd. But musical taste? Eh, I was still enjoying some Air Supply while also listening to Thompson Twins!
