Eureka

We are LOVING the new show on SciFi - Eureka (or is that EUReKA?) They advertised it - wow, maybe as far back as a year ago? I know it was included in their teasers long before the SciFi original movie The Triangle (about the Bermuda Triangle) was released...and that was quite awhile back.
It's entertaining, it gets the techie/scifi geek in us, the lead is hot hot hot, the cast is diverse, and they've got a good thing going already with the one-hitter single episode stories while also setting up some obviously longer running plot threads. At first it seemed it could be a bit Twin Peaks-ish, but maybe it's not quite that weird...

Oh! I was looking up the main guy from Eureka, and didn't realize he was in Armistead Maupin's More Tales of the City. The first part, Tales of the City, was a great mini-series, especially with it's timing since that's when I was first coming out to myself and my family... (Interestingly enough, my brother's 2nd grade teacher Dixie Hoke is the one who sent the video to my mom to watch after I'd come out to them!) Also remember seeing Colin Ferguson in that major flop American-rip-off of the British series Coupling. Cute but annoying in that. Now we just get him as cute!

Now here's something fun to consider - what if there was a USAA/SciFi crossover between the two shows!?!? NTAC agent Tom Baldwin (Joel Gretsch) has to go to the little town of Eureka on investigation, run's into US Marshal Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) ... they have a misunderstanding...a little scuffle breaks out... I'll let you figure out the rest.

It's great - very entertaining. I can see how it could get a little formulaic over time, but I want to see how it does.
