That girl's a mess!

First we didn't get to see Katherine McPhee at our American Idol concert last month because of bronchitis/laryngitis. Then Dave sent us a video clip of her on The View and she hardly said anything during the whole clip - just grinned and told Kathy Griffin "You're so funny!" (or something to that effect). And now this!?

Katharine McPhee Fractures Left Foot

The Associated Press

Katharine McPhee, who joined the "American Idols Live" tour last week after a bout of bronchitis and laryngitis, has fractured her left foot.

The "American Idol" runner-up tripped backstage before a performance Tuesday night in Charlotte, N.C., said Roger Widynowski, a representative for McPhee's record label, RCA.

However, McPhee was able to take the stage — wearing "slipper-sandals" — to sing two songs. She went to a hospital after the performance, and X-rays showed a hairline fracture in her left foot, Widynowski told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Widynowski said McPhee is in "good" condition and will stay on the tour.

The 22-year-old singer missed the first few weeks of the tour because her doctor told her not to sing. She joined the tour in Washington on Friday.

McPhee, known for her sultry looks and her cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," lost the most recent round of the Fox talent competition to Taylor Hicks.

Waitafrickinminute! In all my sickness and such, you never did tell me if you got the sweat of Elliott's brow for me. Despite the fact that he's a smoker (whyohwhyohwhy????), he's still my secret BF.

Am I still to expect the sweat-stained t-shirt in the mail?

Ha, Peter -- great minds ... (although I instructed J&B that I'd be happy with some Chris Daughtry, too). Then I decided bottled was a little gross and that only "fresh from the source" would do. You know, as long as I was dreaming ...

Oh yeah -- at the end of "The View" the day she was on, guess what she sang. If I NEVER hear her sing that song again, it'll be too soon. I think the song itself has become cliché, but as Paula is fond of declaring (probably drunkenly), McPhee's "made it her own." Ugh. (Was never much of a fan -- as if I had to say it.)

So what'd she sing - Somewhere Over the Rainbow, or Black Horse and the Cherry Tree? Would love the latter, but expect it was the former.

And sorry Peter - I thought I emailed you to let you know I had a jar of combined Elliot and Taylor sweat in a jar for you?? I also offered it to Dave, but as he says, he declined...
