Rainy day cats

The birds are out at the feeders being all kinds of crazy - we've got juncos, cardinals, nuthatches, goldfinches, house finches, and even the occasional bluejay today - and what're the cats doing to protect us?

Well, let's see. First it started with Moxie cuddling up under a blanket (yes, she really does like to bury herself in blankets like the blob below), and then we think Tucker decided she made a great paw-warmer, because he settled in alongside her (not something he'd usually do) and actually put his front paws ON her (hey, she didn't mind, and she WAS toasty warm - can't blame him!)

Later, after she overheated under the blanket and piled up on top, I set up a third "nesting station" for Simon, who took the bait easily. Before we knew it, the sofa was full of cats...

Really, they look plenty comfortable, and aren't all all distracted by the birds flitting around just outside the window.

Sometimes when one of us walks through (or decides it's time for more pictures), one or more of them will wake up, look at us lazily, yawn, and then go right back to sleep.

Man, they really have it rough, don't they?

LOVE your bird pic and your cats - the latter, as per usual :)
