Land of the Lost

I promise - honest to goodness REAL posts with pictures of cats and birds and maybe some food are coming soon! Been real busy... In the meantime...check this out:

Will Ferrell must really dig Land of the Lost.

Seven years ago when he turned up in Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, he played Marshall Willenholly, a character named after the Land of the Lost"] heroes Marshall, Will, and Holly.

Now, Ferrell is taking his obsession to a whole other level. The actor will star as Ranger Rick Marshall in a 2009 big-screen comic re-imagining of the fantasy series. Airing for three seasons from 1974-1976, the Sid and Marty Krofft show followed the adventures of a family forced to survive on an island overrun by dinosaurs, ape-men and lizard people.

"Everything's going to be kind of ramped up a little bit," says Ferrell, while promoting Semi-Pro, his latest sports comedy opening today (2/29). "The kitschiness of the TV show is kind of thrown out the window. It's all going to look very realistic. Or as realistic as we think dinosaurs should look.

"You won't see guys running around in costumes with a zipper down the back. We'll CGI it out. Do you think that's a good decision? Of course, it the audience misses the zipper, we might put it back in during post."

Before Land of the Lost hits theaters, Ferrell will pop up alongside John C. Reilly in Step Brothers. After that, it's on to another dream project of Ferrell's.

"I'll be doing a passion project of mine, 'The Lee Iacocca Story' " he says with mock solemnity. "Ten years in the making. I get to play one of my heroes, Lee Iacocca. I really can't wait for the shooting to begin."

He's joking, right?

No way! A remake of Land of the Lost?! Land of the Lost was all kinds of awesome for an 7 yr. old. (Wait, did I just date myself?)

I netflixed this one for the boys to watch. The Sleestak and dinosaurs were a hit with them. Cheese-tastic!

I always liked that little kiosk thing they went into and changed the crystals around. I have no idea WHY they moved the crystals - I don't remember that level of detail - I just remember that it seemed cool at the time.

Oh, those were way cool - the crystals on the matrix tables inside the Pylon. They could change the weather with those or open the time doorway.

Ok, ok, I'm going to go to do some work now.

Ummmm, something missing from that list of pictures? Think hard.

And happy birthday!
