I've told Brett I'm going to need him to help with some more of the dinner fixing/cleaning up after real soon as I prepare to dive into a big freelance project with a short deadline... While that hasn't started yet, my going to a chiropractic appt and class after work gave us the ideal test drive. Brett found a recipe online earlier today that he wanted to try out, checked with me to ensure we had all the ingredients, and the place was smelling WONDERFUL when I got home around 730. Check out Brett's chicken with broccoli:
Now you know me - I'll be real nitpicky about my own cooking. Most folks who cook are! So, because Brett was asking questions about the food and pointing out things he didn't like about it, I was honest and agreed on the "a bit too salty" (he used tamari instead of soy sauce - might this have made a difference?) and "the sauce was a bit thin" (but ONLY a tiny tiny tiny bit!), but totally disagreed with him on the "too oniony" part. Honestly - it was a great dinner! He even did a great slicing job on the carrots - thinly and evenly sliced on the bias. WAY more attention to detail than I'll usually give carrots!
In addition to the chicken with broccoli over rice, he also nuked up one of our favorites sides since I recently discovered them at Sam's Club - edamame in the shell in nukable serving containers for two! (And we're saving the containers so I can use them to start seeds)
So, yum! Great dinner honey! I think you're all set to cook more wonderful dinners for us when I'm slaving over the computer and pulling out my (remaining) hair (stubble). Good dinner!
