...I get to cook things he's normally "frown upon" (ok, let's be honest - he beats me if I cook fish/seafood)
;-)
Seriously though - Brett was out for cheap Mexican with friends/coworkers this evening, and rather take the offer to join them, I stayed home and got work done and cooked up fun stuff just for me!
The salmon, shrimp and asparagus all got doused in olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper - nothing fancier than that - and then thrown on the grill.
I have to say I'm glad I'm FINALLY using up the last of the asparagus I bought on the weekend. REALLY good stuff but...you know...stinky pee! Maybe I should rethink planting 40 crowns of the stuff and share some with friends instead!?
Andy from work hooked me up with some Russian fingerling potatoes to sprout and grow in the garden...but I don't need ALL of them for the garden, so I boiled the remainder, rolled them in the same stuff the seafood and asparagus got, and added it all together over romaine lettuce.
Tasty tasty good dinner! MMMM! Great for a spring evening out on the deck.

Now THAT looks good. Ah, the cooking fun we can have when the BFs are away!
Brett saw the pics and said "ew gross!"
nice.
Kelli would KILL me if I made that without her home!
Whereas Brett would kill me if I made it when he WAS at home! ;-)
How can he not like shrimp and salmon? Just add lobster and it's my fave meal ever!!
