Ok, yeah, so maybe this should be the LAST of the Chicago pics I post but, hey, it's my blog! Plus, more than likely, many of those other pics will go into a Good Web Album instead of shown individually in a blog entry...
Anyhow, our last morning in Chicago included a SUPER yummy breakfast at Ann Sathers... Hm, I'm guessing we were at the Broadway Cafe location - Peter?
When Peter said the place included cinnamon rolls as a side option with many of the dishes, I was intrigued. I'm a really big fan of cinnamon rolls. I'm a REALLY BIG fan of REALLY GOOD cinnamon rolls. THESE were REALLY GOOD!
And I fully admit a picture of partially eaten cinnamon rolls doesn't do them justice. These suckers were big, soft, warm, cinnamony, and goooooooey! Very moist in all the right places. SO TASTY! (The extra good news? You can actually find the recipe for them online - no guarantees this is the SAME recipe the restaurant uses, but I'm still gonna give it a try!) Something I may have to try the next time we're in Chicago (and, yes, we'll have to go to Ann Sathers again!), is the French Toast Fantasy (see below) - something Rachael Ray apparently LOOOOVED.
Aside from being a sticky, gooey mess (from the cinnamon rolls), we also had a fun time just chilling with Peter and Conrad our last morning in Chicago... Lots of pics were taken - including me and blinky Brett:
And not-so-blinky Brett!
And Conrad and Peter:
If you've seen Peter's site, in addition to drooling over my boyfriend, you know he also loves to pose with his food! (Don't we all!)
And like me, he likes to take pictures of his food. He actually gets WAY more pictures of food while eating out than I'd ever have the nerve to do...
Here's Brett striking a pose with his sausage gravy and biscuits (actually, I think Brett was left out of Peter's pic in this case!)
The hostess (and owner? manager?) saw us taking a bunch of pics of each other, and volunteered to take some of all of us. If you check out Peter's blog, you'll see the OTHER pic of all four of us, where the girl behind me looked like she was ready to bitch slap me.
As I've said, we had a GREAT time visiting Peter & Conrad. They already have plans to come visit us later this summer, mid-August, just when the garden should hopefully be producing lots of fresh goodies to eat!

Yes to both, I openly admit. Food is fun, and Brett is hot. Can I be faulted for that?
Oh, and yes, it was the Broadway location!
:-)
Mmmm, sausage gravy & biscuits ... No tapenades or remoulades, no prickly-pear-and-açai compotes, nothing bathed lovingly in a bain marie -- Brett's my new hero.
Ann Sather is MY new hero!
Wait, what is wrong with tapenades or remoulades or any of the others.
Food snobbery cuts two ways, it seems!
:-)
Just teasin', of course ;-)
It's all good - literally!
