The storm that wasn't

We were watching TV and eating an early dinner the other night when something smashed out on the deck and the cats went flying. Hopped up to see what was the matter (shades of Christmas!), and a chair had been moved across the deck by the strong winds that were hitting us. Went out the front door to get a better view of the storm, and wow, it sure LOOKED cool!

What's disappointing was the actual RAIN was waaaaaay over there - off to the north. Well THAT doesn't do us any good!

Still, it was cool to watch, and we weren't the only ones out on the street checking it out. We even saw some minor swirling in the clouds, like it really wanted to think about forming a twister, and just couldn't quite muster it.

Areas around us have gotten some really heavy storms lately, but they seem to mostly miss us. Now up in NY, Andy's gotten himself some strong winds - with as much as 57kph gusts! (I admit it - I'm jealous!)

Um. They're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack?

Anyone?

Looks like your house is about to be sucked into a void by a Poltergeist.

Scary.

LOL No kidding - that's certainly how it felt. It really felt like some powerful, evil Big Bad (ever watch Buffy?) was about to be born on Earth, right in our own neighborhood.
