I've REEEEEALLY been craving something gingery and a little spicey lately. I've had good luck with ginger scones in the past, but haven't made them in ages, and didn't remember what recipe I use. (Julie would lecture me for not jotting down notes in my cookbooks) So I tried a highly scored recipe online, following some of the suggestions to add cinnamon and ground ginger to the dough (which doesn't actually call for any spices - just crystallized/candied ginger).
Unfortunately, as good as these look...and they DO look pretty good (although a bit flat and more like cookies)...
...they weren't the best scones. A bit TOO moist, and not gingery enough. I wanted something a bit more like a biscuit maybe? Hm. Will have to try again!
