Say Hello to Doogie Bowser

So "the puppy" finally got his name this week - Brett mentioned some of the names we were considering to his coworkers and one came up for the perfect last name to go with Brett's favorite first name. So - here's Doogie Bowser hoping you'll help him decide which side is his best for future photos:

Looking quite serious - like he's ready to go hunt some pheasants:

Looking cute and maybe just a touch worried or concerned?

Trying to look seductive, and playing coy:

After a 2 1/2 hr vet visit (it was mostly waiting stand by since he didn't have an appointment but they wanted to get him in anyhow), his stool sample shows he's got coccidia, and it confirmed the worms. So he's on meds for all of that, plus had some shots, and goes back in in a few weeks for more. And he's on pills for the coccidia or worms - I forget which. Annnnnd he got a little flea-treatment squirt for between the shoulder blades. The vets also have us treating the cats since they're outdoors sometimes AND because Doogie came into the house with fleas (so far, we've seen no signs of fleas post-flea bath where we got maybe a dozen off him).

They're guessing he's about 14 weeks old - he's only got two adult teeth in (lower front), and the top two front are wiggly at this point. He's basically an energy-filled kid who LOVES to teethe right now! He was a whopping 14.4 lbs (to give you some perspective, Tucker weighs 20!), and they're figuring he'll gain roughly 5lbs a week and will probably top out at 40 or so.

Most folks feel he's primarily Border Collie, and we've heard a variety of suggestions for what else he might have in him.

He loves to run around the yard, and he really wants Tucker to play with him. Moxie and Simon usually steer clear of him. There's been a fair amount of hissing, and some swats, but he still TRIES to play with them - here's the proof:

Doogie: "C'mon, let's play!"

Doogie: "Whoa, damn, you look like one mean cat!"

Tucker: *SWAT!*

And then there's-
Doogie: "C'mon let's play! Look I can catch up to you AND shoot right on past!!!"

Tucker: "F-you, ya damn dog!"

Super adorable! I want to hug him! :)

He'll probably be happy for the hug AND want to lick you in your ear - if you're into that! ;-) You can see him at the party...I wonder if we should dress him up?

Please tell me that you did not name this adorable dog Doogie Bowser.

Yes, we really did. He goes by Doogie (Brett really liked this name), but one of his coworkers (Brett's, not Doogie's) suggested adding on the Bowser. It's cute! NOT my first choice for a name, but we both kept going back and forth, and it's good to have him settled on something. Poor guy was gonna be confused without a name.
