Chip? Or Dale?

There's been a lot of new activity out on the deck lately. I'd put some pumpkin pulp/seeds out there hoping the birds would enjoy them, but they haven't touched it. That doesn't mean NO ONE'S eating the stuff...

Sometimes I'll be sitting in the living room, and realize it's awfully strange that I haven't had a cat passing through, making sure to walk ACROSS me in the process. And then I'll hear the swishing of a tail against the vinyl floor by the back door, back and forth, perhaps thumping against something. Sure enough, the cats are staring at their little buddy out on the deck...

Cute! I haven't seen our chipmunks for quite a while. I was thinking they were hibernating or whatever. Now I wonder....

I haven't seen hide nor hair of a chipmunk around here for weeks. Not even under the bird feeder and that is like a real chipmunk hangout. Like Carolyn, I assume they are all hibernating now... What's with yours? LOL

Well, Kris, I figure that's because you caught 'em all on your giant-sized rodent traps! ;-) Or are those traps rigged with the planter on top so that mice can get in, but chipmunks can't?

Maybe my chipmunks know that we've been having a bit of a warm spell, and they're stocking up on more snacks for winter?
