Good parents

Latest pics on the first bird nest... These were taken through the window beside the front door, and you can tell the birds were aware that I was watching (check out the evil-eye I'm getting from the father in the first picture!).

This was interesting - BOTH parents dip in to feed the babies at the same time!! Or maybe one's feeding and the other is changing their diapers? See? There's two tails sticking out!

Things get noisy when the parents come with food - and I honestly think it's the parents, not the babies, doing all the chirping!
Haven't checked on the second nest in a couple days...not sure what the status is over there.

how sweet! I have a nestbox out back that has a family of nuthatches. I love seeing the parents hopping around the tree. Everytime the approach the box you can hear lots of little chirps. I can't wait to see the little ones.

I saw a baby robin yesterday with mom closely watching.

Oh nuthatches? Cool! I've never seen more than one at a time out here... I think they're really cool looking though - more of a blue-gray, and kind of a cool song/chirp.

As of yesterday, the three babies in the first nest are doing fine, and there's been a cowbird and a house finch that have hatched in the second nest.

Tabby - they're house finches in the pics I posted.
