Aren't you GLAD we made ice cream!?

Brett discovered something goofy and fun about our new homemade ice creams. When our Gladware containers are filled to the brim, we get an indentation! So should we start calling our ice cream Glad brand?

You can see here we have sexy Brett styling his iPod, his dishelved putzing-around-on-a-Sunday hairstyle, and the chocolate chocolate chunk ice cream I made Friday. Boy is it goooood stuff!! I made the standard chocolate ice cream recipe that came with the maker - none of the fancy Ben & Jerry recipes this time. Only I added two pasteurized eggs to give it a little richness (plus we've been reading about how that helps the ice cream last longer!), annnnnd 4oz of chunked up sweet dark chocolate. Gives it that something extra special. And gives us a few extra pounds around the bellies! ;-)

And then tonite, in addition to making some kick-ass fried chicken, mashed potatoes, country gravy (shhh...it's from a package), and homegrown salad/baby greens, I also whipped up this little chocolately beauty! You'll find the recipe here: http://bakingsheet.blogspot.com/2006/04/cooking-school-chocolate-marble-cake.html (And you'll also find links there to several other sites who's blog-writers have made it) I cooked it up in my heavily ridged Nordicware Bundt Pan, and had some minor sticking issues that kept part of the cake in the pan (next time - flour the pan after Pamming it, no matter what the original recipe says!) You can sort of tell that my strategic photo angle here was an attempt to hide the missing part of the cake - didn't quite work out. Oh well - still tasted amazingly good! Yum! (I'm starting to think "Yum!" should be the name of this blog!)

Hey hey!

Wow - and here after I started this recently I figured ONLY the two friends I'd sent the link to and my mom would've found this! LOL Great to hear from you!

Are you planning to go to the reunion? I'd been looking forward to an excuse/reason to go back to Hawaii, and then after some research awhile back found out they were planning an event in LAS VEGAS instead. What!? Grrrr... But I got an email from them last week with the list of people who's contact info they want to confirm, and those they're still looking for, and when I responded (and asking about reunion plans), they said there was talk of doing something in Oahu also - but like in the late fall/early winter I think? Odd. I can forward it to you when I get home if you like?

So how're you doing? Hope all is well? 20 years - hm, feeling old yet?? (I turned 37 in March - MAN that sounds old!)

Keep checking back for more fun pics - I'll be GLAD to provide more! (Ok, stopping the cheesey Glad references now... ;-)

LAS VEGAS? Ugh...well, I'd appreciate the email. I hadn't really made any plans to attend the reunion but it'd be nice to have that option anyway. And actually I'd like to go, how bad could it be??? (that's a really really dumb question, I just know it) I noticed they had my old email on the alumni site and I sent the webmaster my new one. It is kyrie@bellsouth.net . I'm doing great, still married to the same guy I met in Mililani, still reclusive in backwoods Mississippi. I don't feel old at all, it really bewilders me when I remember that I am 37 years old...how did I get here??? 8P
Thanks in advance for the email, let's keep in touch a little better, shall we?
