Pool Day - the night edition

Randy and Larry had us all over for a cookout and pool party event yesterday - we had a blast! Brett, who normally doesn't even want to be seen without his shirt on, was like a fish once he got in the water! I always forget he grew up with a pool in the backyard, and one of their favorite things was to have all the kids run in a circle around the outer edge of the pool, getting the water to start forming sort of a whirlpool!

Brett had us doing it yesterday, and at first it didn't seem to do much. Before we knew it, with us adults and the kids all going counter clockwise, and some of us using the pool rafts to help move the water as well, we really had some momentum going! If you just lifted your feet up to float, you'd be carried around the pool in a circle. And if you tried to walk against the current? Forget it!

Here we are working on building up the whirlpool...

That's me on the left on whirlpool-making duty, and I think Randy and Dave are just holding on for their lives!

There were a few comments about how with something this minor, people could totally understand what it'd be like to be swept away in one of those national disasters like a hurricane or tsunami!

Hi Randy! We love your pool!

Looks like Larry's just about to jump in on Dave!

As you can get a hint here, Brett was being real mischevous... That's Tyler just hamming it up while I try to keep my distance from Brett.

We were trying to do some synchronized swimming for the camera. We were so off that the camera only seemed to get one of us at a time. Didn't help that we were being swept along by the current.

Here's Jay, the man behind the camera for the evening...
