One of the appetizers we had for New Year's/Christmas-rain-check with Brett's family... Turns out only 3 of the 4 wedges fit in the dish - oh well! And usually we go with more "sophisticated" wooden toothpicks, but I ran out. Oops!
And here was dessert - I needed to use up a can of cherry pie filling mom had given me awhile back, and I'm not a HUGE fan of cherry pie, while Brett won't touch it - so I cooked it to feed others! :) I can do a decent lattice topped pie, but I ALWAYS have sloppy outer edges on my crusts...
I intend to post pics of us doing New Years/Christmas with Brett's family from yesterday, and Christmas with my family last week, real soon - I'll just need to dedicate a little more time for that...and I wanted to get in a little World of Warcraft tonite! (And looking at what people came up with for the Holiday Cookie Decorating contest, and knowing how bad my cookie mojo was this year (still need to post that as well!), I'm glad I didn't take the time to participate and stress out more!)

Okay, I just once again lusted (innocently) after your BF, and now you tell me that he won't even eat cherry pie? No, really? What will he eat?
I'm mystified.
Yummy pie! Our pie edges always look like that, too. Didn't think they could look any other way :)
I've been known to wrap foil around the edges near the end of baking time to prevent this effect. This time they were looking good but the lattice-work didn't, so I left it in a little longer - that's why they browned up. Certainly didn't effect the taste in a negative way! ;-)
