I've got two 100ft 3/4in 100PSI bundles of black poly pipe in the back yard. Will PROBABLY only need one and can take the other back.
Both my dad and Joe Lamp'l's "Fresh From The Garden" DIYNetwork show were inspiration for the project. I'll be running the poly pipe underground from the backyard faucet (which has a 4-way splitter on it) from one corner of the backyard way over to the other (just under 100 feet distance), where the pipe get's split - part stays down in a hole dug where I can drain it each fall, and the other part comes up where I'll be able to attach hoses - nice and close to the garden.
Right now it's a real pain dragging hoses way back to the garden. Brett thinks I'm being a wuss if I love my garden so much... I say it's a convenience factor I'm working towards here!
Oh, and I've never done anything like this, so I'm sure I'll screw something up! I'm just glad I ordered the additional trencher attachment for the Bobcat, which is getting delivered in the morning!
Unless the whole thing is below the frost line - which it does not sound like it will be - make sure you have a easy way to drain the entire system in the fall - else you will be digging it up in the spring looking for the part that the ice split open!
I'm glad Andy mentioned the frost line, I hate being the bearer of bad news.
Other than that, congrats on the new house and yard, etc. Aren't Bobcats the best thing ever? I love driving those things and-and-and all the attachments! It's like a KitchenAid on wheels.

Something's missing! ;)
Looks like the beginnings of a sprinkler system?
Yup, you're both right!
