Got home and was really surprised to find Todd, his assistant who's been with him each time, and a new guy all working on the deck in the backyard - they had part of the skirt on, part of the smaller set of steps, and some of the corner posts. I was shocked they came out today in the snow, but Todd said a little snow never hurt them. Granted, tromping around on the snow on the new lawn DOES hurt the grass some, but oh well, we'll have to reseed in the spring anyhow.
Here's the pile of Trex to the side of the house.
And I think I'm real popular with the deck guys right now. While they kept declining any offers for food, hot drinks etc when I first got home, like they have every time I've offered before, I mentioned hot chocolate at one point, and Todd's eyes perked up. That opened the floodgates - the guy who's been here with him each time asked for water.
So while heating milk in the nuker for hot chocolate I grabbed the last two frapaccinos outta the fridge and offered them with the water, and Todd and the new guy both pounced on them - "anything with chocolate sounds good right now!" They didn't care that they were cold. So since all that went over well, I fixed up a plate with sliced pumpkin bread (with raisins and walnuts) that I made last nite, plus the "suicide blondes" (blondie brownies with white choc chips, choc chunks, walnuts and mini M&MS) I made late last week (a little dry, but like the guys will know considering they're about frozen out there!), and then on another plate I put sliced summer sausage, sliced smoked Gouda and crackers.
Took those out, and while I was preparing a jug of hot chocolate to take out with coffee mugs and glasses of water, I saw 'em starting on the food. Yup - guess they DID want something to eat/drink! ;-) (OR they're just being polite...but I bet food'll help 'em work!)
