Whatever you do, don't tell Finny (over at Finny Knits) that I'm posting pics of our lights - she's liable to point out how they don't look nearly as good as other people on our street! We kinda chickened out this weekend - I was up on the ladder, hoping to put lights up all along the peaks/trim of the house, and decided I was too nervous (Brett wouldn't even go that high up the ladder!) Then I tried crawling out the front office window onto the roof - WAY too steep and slippery - I got part way up the garage roof, turned around, and came back in.
So, oh well - here's what our house is looking like during day light... (Garage is open 'cause the deck guys were working in the backyard and I wanted to give them an easy way in if they needed it)
Here's the new 6ft tall Norway spruce I bought and planted Sunday - not too bad for $66!
And here's me popping out just as twilight's hitting - I'll need to go out again sometime for a better, more stable picture when ALL the lights have kicked on... The icicle lights above the garage door haven't yet kicked on in these pictures, but I admit to being a little embarrassed about going out and taking pics as the deck crew were going back and forth from the back yard.
We're both in agreement that the bedroom side of the house (far left in this pic) is looking a bit sparse. I might end out trimming that window in lights as well. You can sort of see I have a ficus lit in the upstairs office window, and a small Christmas tree lit in the dining room window (behind the porch railing). Our poor little boxwoods look SO dinky this year!
And here's a look down the street as neighbors are starting to make progress in lighting their houses - I'm sure there'll be more this weekend.

Ahhh, Jeph, it looks terrific, truly. A bit of snow? Wonderful. It was snowing as I came home from work tonight. I best get busy on cards and parcels now that I've had an early dinner. Have fun in the Chick-Fil-A line up!
The Norway Spruce looks great. Now that is something you can enjoy year around for many years to come.
