A FROST ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM EDT WEDNESDAY.
THE COMBINATION OF MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND LIGHT WINDS WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO DIP A DEGREE OR TWO BELOW FREEZING TONIGHT ACROSS INLAND AREAS AND TO AROUND FREEZING NEAR LAKE ERIE. SOME OF THE USUAL COLD SPOTS MAY SEE TEMPERATURES DIP INTO THE UPPER 20S FOR AN HOUR OR TWO LATE TONIGHT. AS A RESULT AREAS OF FROST WILL DEVELOP ACROSS NORTHERN OHIO OVERNIGHT.
A FROST ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN FROST IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP DURING THE GROWING SEASON. TENDER OUTDOOR VEGETATION SHOULD BE PROTECTED FROM THE COLD TONIGHT.
Annnnnd so.... I've got flats of veggies and flowers tucked in under the grill and deck chairs, and all are covered in blankets and tarp, and there's towels and horse blankets over the planters.
Buried the butterfly bush, catmint and catnip...
Hopefully the asian pear tree (in the middle) will do fine.
One branch of this blueberry bush was covered in blooms! Here's my attempt to protect it. It's really not bent/contorted as bad as it looks in this pic.
Where are the strawberries!?
Mary's old windows fit perfectly on the narrow raised bed. They've been holding heat in since yesterday (but no, not too hot)
Hm, if I light the grill under the tarp, will that help keep my growies warm, or just burn down the house?
Oh, and pansies are notorious for toughing out freezes, so I figure we'll see if they do ok...things were crowded!
Cross your fingers for me!

Fingers crossed - I hope better, springlike weather is on its way.
Oh, I've never commented, but Asian pear? Way cool!
