Morning Antics

Do you remember awhile back where I quoted Brett saying "it's like we have Snow White's backyard"?

And do you remember even further back where I pointed out "the face of evil", and Andy from Bluebird Meadow Farms said he thought that deer was probably pregnant with twins?

Well this morning I got up, groggy as usual from sharing the bed with Brett and SIMON-WHO-TAKES-UP-SO-MUCH-SPACE, went out to feed the cats, opened the backdoor blinds to look out and see how the morning wanted to greet me, and saw this:

Oh cute - a baby deer! Wait, are there two?

There's two! Well at least they're not actually eating my plants (as far as I could tell - and while I was watching).

Waitasec - there's THREE deer! A mama and two foal! And man, those young ones are FULL of energy!

Then something across the street must've scared them, 'cause they TOOK OFF!

Zooooom!

Cute! I just hope we don't have a problem...

Ok Peter and Carolyn - I'll mail you each one of the two babies. Andy P's got plans to shoot/eat the mother I think.

What? Why're you looking at me funny.

Did I cross a line?

Too cute Jeph! I'm so amazed that you got such great pics.
But they're fawns, not foals (baby horse). You can borrow Natalie's baby animal books if you need to study up ;)

ROFL Talk about EMBARRASSING! Thanks for the correction... I guess I'll leave it in there as is - and see if anyone else catches me on it. Doh!

Let's do some deer math - shall we Jeph...
1 doe + "her special man" + 8 months or so = 2 cute lovable frolicking fawns...
2 nursing fawns + 1 hungry doe + Jephs Garden of Eden = well, you are a smart guy...

Then add 1 more year with no natural predators or hunters... I lost track of the number of deer...

Very cute - all I can say is I'm glad they don't look like that / do that / behave like that / or even resemble that come October / November for deer season.
