Pinkletinks

Yeah, I said it. Pinkletinks.



Apparently that's what Spring Peepers are known as up on Martha's Vineyard. Another name, this one from New Brunswick, Canada, is twinkletoes. Cute!

The picture above is from The Ohio Frog and Toad Calling Survey's Northern Spring Peeper page... Wow, I didn't even know there was such a site....might have to come back and check that out again!

It's stuff like this that makes me worry about all the Chem Lawn and other lawn fertilizer service and home applications going on around here... We have a drainage pond behind our property, and in the summer it should be full of bull frogs and other noise makers. Sure, they get loud, but it's their home. Just how much damage are our good looking lawns here in the neighborhood doing to these critters?
