I'm actually a week or two behind on the recommended start date for some of the first seeds of the season, but that's with me assuming our average last frost date from previous years is a bit late. They adjusted all the growing zones last year, and we could be more zone 6b than 5. And then I recently saw something where the weather forecasters were thinking we might have an above average / early spring. It's all a guessing game anyhow... I'll get some of this stuff started now and will just have to see how things go over the next few months - whether a lot of these hide out in the greenhouse with protective covers, or if they actually go in the ground earlier than usual...
Man, it really doesn't feel like garden time yet!
