Brett's recently been busy in the basement, but it's been sporadic busy-ness... The walling off of the cat-litter room is almost done however - and so far it's REALLY nice!
Considering he's never built a wall before, he did an amazing job! The wall still needs mudded and painted, and he wants to drywall the ceiling INSIDE the litter room (so then the litter dust won't be getting out over the wall between the joists. You can't see it here, but the people door is in place - it's just open.
Why'd I specify people door? Well, we're not the only ones who're going to need to get in and out of the litter room! Now - have you ever tried measuring a cat?
They really don't like to cooperate....so it's easier to just have them stand (if only for a split second) next to some vertical surface...
And THEN take your measurements! Now Brett knows how to position the cat door! (It's in and works perfectly, btw!)

I wanna see pictures of the cat door! and the human door! I think we are going to replace our interior doors in our house so I'm curious how that process went. Although he built from scratch so I'm sure that's different.
Nice work being a fussy celebrity, Tucker.
Good job on the wall, Brett!
Now, when/if you guys sell that house, how are you going to stage/market that room?
"Hi. Welcome to our cat poop room. Take a look around..."?
Nice sequence of instructional photos! I think you should put them on flickr and label it appropriately, something like, How to Measure the Height of a Cat. Just think how many people will be helped!
You guys are right - I should take more/better (or if I were in Hawaii, "mo betta") pictures of the finished project...
Finny - we COULD list it as a cold cellar maybe? Or, hey, we could really push it to cat owners! ;-)
Carolyn - I don't think all the cats out there would appreciate it. ;-)
