Albino strawberry

Check it out:

This white alpine strawberry tasted just like the red ones I've had - both sweet and tart, not nearly as juice as their larger grocery-store-friendly cousins. I haven't picked more than one, maybe two, at a time, and that's only every few days. I'm guessing critters are getting any ripe strawberries before I do. Could just be they're not producing much yet, but I've seen the flowers, I've seen the small hard green nubbins of unripe fruit. And these guys seem to hide under the leaves once they're ripe - I usually only find a ripe fruit IF I lift up the leaves and look around. Even though they're small plants, they hide their fruit from humans well.
