Yup, we're back to talking about corn!
Check out how far out the corn cobs are sticking!! This is Silver Queen, and it's the variety we tested about a week and a half ago now, back when it was absolutely NOT ready for consumption.
I've squeezed some of the bigger, more sticky-outie ears, and they're definitely feeling more filled-in than those initial ones did...so I'm thinking any day now we're going to have another go at it and see how they're doing. I'd say most of the Silver Queen variety isn't ready yet, but some are definitely close.
And here's the other variety (who's name I can't remember right now - Gourmet? Anyhow, it's clearly not as far along, with husks that are still a bit wrinkly from not being filled in, and the ears are sticking more upright.
