Wrapped in plastic

Look what just went in the freezer!

That's maybe a quart of green beans divvied up for us, plus a couple bags with all the scrappy parts/ends chopped up fine - those will get used in dog treats sometime later. All got blanched and chilled, then dried in dishtowels before getting vaccu-packed for the freezer. We haven't had the best luck with frozen homegrown beans in the past, but I think that's because we wanted to eat them as "a side of garden fresh beans" in the middle of winter. This time I've decided to prep them for winter soups, so they're all chopped into 1"-2" pieces, and they'll cook in the soup a bit....rather than need to taste "freshly steamed".
