So if April showers bring May flowers, what do April flurries bring? 'Cause that's what we were getting earlier this week!
What you see here is the afternoon, after I got off work. That morning everything had been covered in a thin layer of snow, most of which melted during the day (even though we continued to get flurries), and then it started sticking again some that afternoon/evening...
Neither Doogie nor the daffodils seemed to mind...
I was really worried the weeping cherry, which is about to bloom, would have the buds all turn black and drop off, but so far they seem ok.
This tree's probably going to wait til we're out of town, and then have all the blooms open up!
This hyacinth isn't looking so great in it's second year. I wish they were more reliable over the years...
Looks like I need to mow! I'll just wait til we're done with the snow. ;-)
I've put the rigged up cold frame box over the broccoli and some of the cabbage transplants - don't need to be losing them due to snow and ice!
Here's what things look like inside the cold frame. I've sprinkled carrot and radish seeds between the seedlings.
This black-capped chickadee didn't mind the cold weather one bit!
I think this daffodil decided it was too cold and is going to hold out a little longer before putting on a show!?
